Social bookmarking

Social bookmarking sites are cropping up all over the internet [ and Furl are two of the most popular ones]

Sites like these run rampant on the internet and are set to explode in popularity. The basics of Social bookmarking revolve around allowing users the option to store their favorite sites and pages online and label them with tags.

Since the bookmarks are stored online, they are not limited to a particular computer. Most Social bookmarking sites also have built in RSS features so users can share their bookmarks.
Some even let users vote for the bookmark or article and will put the most favored links up higher. As a web owner, this means you will receive some extra exposure if your pages are favored by Social bookmarkers.

Each Social bookmarking site is run differently, but all are organized by the concept of tags.

But, since your webpage may be tagged with many tags instead of just one, who really cares with spelling? With tagging, you will want your content to be tagged with as many related tags as possible to increase the chances of your webpage being found.

And at the rate some of these popular Social bookmarking sites are being snatched up by major search engine companies, you know they’re onto something. Yahoo has recently acquired Flickr and, two of the web’s most popular bookmarking utilities.

One of the top tagging sites on the internet, Technorati, allows the web owner to tag their own content and add it to the Technorati index. Bloggers have been rewarded with thousands of extra visitors per day by mastering Technorati.

There's no doubt that by tagging, you will definitely increase some traffic to your site

Should You Join A Social Networking Site

Another one of the many reasons why you should join a social networking site is because you literally have a wide variety of choices.

As social networking sites increased in popularity, so did the number of sites that could be found online. Although MySpace is often deemed the most popular online social networking site, there are others that are just as easy or as much fun to use.

In your search for social networking sites, you will come across a number of different networks. Many of those sites will have a particular focus and perhaps, the greatest reason, why you should join a social networking site is because most of them are free to use and obviously you may not want to pay for something that you can obtain for free. Of course, most paid networks offer you more membership benefits, when compared to free social networking sites.

Unlike MySpace, which accepts just about any Internet user, there are online networks that aim to accept Internet users that have a particular hobby, view, or belief. It is not uncommon to find social networking sites that focus on politics, religion or just about anything.

If you are unsure about joining an online networking community, specialty networking sites, let Myspace be your best bet. They are a great way to test the waters and they are nice because they automatically pair you with Internet users who have the same interests or views that you do.

So give Myspace a shot.

Depression and easy solutions to getting out of it

Why do people dwell on past memories?

Why do people cope up with all this suffering, when there is nothing and if at all there is any, it should be flushed down a toilet.

These are common characteristics of depression. Failure, to comprehend realities, dwelling on past miseries and most of all gaining satisfaction from it.

On the alternate side, there is this innate fear that something bad might happen to people whom you like.

Is there a solution?

But it takes some time and a bottle of common sense.

I say this not because of the above options, but to shake of the system or social supporters of such a system.

They need a scapegoat, and it is high time you realize that you are the evangelical scapegoat.

Take time off, give each of the a piece of your supposed, hypothetical miseries, the ones you are afraid off, the ones you try to hide.

Don’t give it with any anger or remorse. But give it as if you are sharing something valuable, such as say you have received some huge parcel of food or even a prize. Make it look like something valuable, and then you won’t feel bad about it.

Give after a week, list down the number of miseries and fears left.

Should there be no improvement, don’t despair. Go back to the old schedule, but you have a few less of your hypothetical fears and worries left.

Do this again after two weeks. Note the improvement.

Now, also you would start receiving feedbacks from the people you have shared your prizes. If there is a positive response, then you have to really work with yourself.

It would help even if you discuss these problems with a counselor.

Alternately, if your friends, colleagues, neighbors or relatives start politely turning down your prize giving habit, then you don’t have much to worry.

Your theory is not hypothetical; there is a social problem out here.

Each week or two weeks, change your approaches, modus operandi and you would be on the road to recovery.

Perhaps, it would even turn out to be one of the best experiences and lessons you ever learn.

Is It Worth Joining a Social Networking Site ?

If you ask yourself this question - Am I interested in meeting new people online ? and if your answer is YES, then go ahead and join as social networking is here to stay.

Before the era of social networking, it was difficult to meet other Internet users.
If you tried, you would have to rely on chat rooms or instant messaging services
As nice as these popular Internet features are, they are not always considered safe. With chat rooms or instant messaging programs you were often given little reassurance that a person was who they claimed to be as there was no way that you could learn more about a particular Internet user, even if you wanted to.

Social networking has changed all that.

Not only have social networking sites made it safer to meet people online, it also
allows you to meet people that have the same or similar interests as yourself.

Most social networking sites allow you to create your own profile; in fact, many even give you your own web-page. These profiles or pages will allow you to share information on yourself, including your likes and dislikes. And it would be fairly easy for you to meet up with other network members that have similar profiles, especially those who enjoy or believe in the same things that you do.

Neuro Linguistic Programming - NLP

Demand and supply has a funny criteria or in other words a standard or a base that it operates from. Whiz kids call it the benchmark, which of-course bounces off a lot of people.

Now returning to where we started……….the market at present, works on a funny standard , that is a 1,2, and 1,2,0 and a 1,2,3 standard. So basically you gotta write down each move [ie., if you have the time and you are quick on the uptake, by market standards] or else, you are lost!

So, where were we now ?

Did someone mention anything about USP……..or a unique selling proposition ?

Now did someone say some-thing ?

Must make an appointment with my psychiatrist!

Now lets create A as the demand and B as the supply and C as the constant. so that whenever there is a break in communication we can always move over to the other side. In other words, you have to know both sides……….

Oops...ego beckons…………. Let’s bathe in it…….or else C cannot control the neurotic……

Now where do the male and female elements fit in … such a process ?

NLP should be a lot more organized…..few understand it

Catch up with you later

Think of social networking as an investment

We admit, social networking is not for everyone.

As you evaluate the goals for your own organization you will need to consider…

All publicity is NOT good publicity

How will (potential) donors react to your organization on a social platform

Will social drive donations?
Is social traffic worthwhile traffic?
Will social traffic convert?
Is social cost effective?

Just think of social networking as an investment for the future.

Prepare to lose control and know who is already pretending to be you.

The mostly young people you will dealing with are your donors and supporters of tomorrow.

Get into the game now and learn how to use social media or you might be left behind for good.

Oh, and anytime people say "this thing is a fad".... I think of blogging.

Lots of people told me that I was nuts with no clear objective, when I started it too. It wasn’t. I had no idea of it whatsoever but I an slowly beginning to enjoy it....

Now let's see what the future holds !
